DoGoodBuyUs Creates a New 'Marketplace for Social Good'

Website start-up will provide free marketing solutions to nonprofits through a new e-commerce platform

NEW YORK, NY, July 14, 2011 /E-commerce PR News/ -- DoGoodBuyUs is bringing e-commerce to causes. This start-up website will establish a new "marketplace for social good" in which nonprofits can market responsible products that benefit a social cause.

DoGoodBuyUs offers free marketing solutions to partnering nonprofits by showcasing their fundraising products, developing campaigns for digital promotions, and increasing awareness and support among new online communities.

As nonprofits cope with 2010 sustained lows in charitable giving, the founders of DoGoodBuyUs believe extra marketing costs should not stifle growth.

"Nonprofits are facing a tremendous marketing challenge in the digital age," explains site Co-founder Zack Rosenberg. "With so much online cause promotion, it takes a lot of time and money for smaller nonprofits to gain attention and distinguish themselves. We want to alleviate that marketing burden so our partners can focus on their most important work."

The founders of DoGoodBuyUs want to elevate impressive nonprofits above this unorganized cause marketing clutter. By aggregating responsible products, this centralized marketplace will present consumers with convenient, reliable ways to practice conscious consumerism across a variety of categories rather than resorting to multiple unknown outlets.

The DoGoodBuyUs website is brand new and still forming, but their esteemed partners gained just over the past month include A Global Friendship, New Forest Earth, SCHEFO, and Special Spectators.

While future partners will have a one-time initial listing fee for adding their product packages to the site catalog, all new partners who join the site before this Labor Day can list products completely free of cost in addition to all other free marketing services.

The variety of causes represented by DoGoodBuyUs will maximize awareness of partnering nonprofits among new and diverse audiences. Visitors to the site looking to support one cause category will gain exposure to many other causes they may not normally research on their own. Each partner will also have a dedicated product page for further educating visitors on their cause.

Recent success stories suggest online stores are high-potential fundraising vehicles. The American Cancer Foundation generated $97 million from their online store in 2010, and the Lance Armstrong store generated $32 million that year. Still, the resources needed to create and sell online products can be overwhelming.

"Facilitating an effective online store can be a big risk for nonprofits with limited employees and resources during the recession," says Co-founder Zach Adler. "Our marketing experts will take on the weight of promotions, research, and customer relationship building so our partners can minimize that risk."

Along with these marketing resources, DoGoodBuyUs will form a strong relationship with each nonprofit far beyond that of a retailer. The founders plan to be involved in individual partner initiatives, be present for partner events, and facilitate collaboration among all DoGoodBuyUs partners to foster a new community of support.

DoGoodBuyUs is seeking more partners to make their site a more powerful vehicle for promoting conscious consumerism. Partners who join the site before Labor Day will have their products added to the site catalog completely free of cost and will help to build the first "marketplace for social good."

DoGoodBuyUs is an e-commerce platform for nonprofits with cause-related products. This website partners with nonprofits, lists and markets their fundraising products, and builds awareness and support among diverse online communities.
